Both originally from Philadelphia, Anastasia and colleague Megan Bruce co-founded the inaugural TEDx Walnut St Women conference featuring speakers from the arts, public service, politics, tech and entrepreneurship sectors in the city.
Raising all the funding for production and speaker fees themselves, Anastasia and Megan worked with the speakers to develop their talks while also securing the venue and the production partners and volunteers to make the event happen. They sold out in under two weeks and had to release additional tickets .
The event sparked conversations around women’s roles and opportunities in Philadelphia and created a community of enthusiastic attendees.
