Uniform Experiment

The late American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe was equally comfortable in East Village fetish clubs and Upper East Side dinner parties. That dichotomy extended to his works, spanning both the shockingly profane and sublime, the latter exemplified by his languid still lifes of flowers from the 1980s.

Anastasia worked with a local licensing agency in Japan to create a series of plain white tees for uniform experiment, featuring softly hued orchids, tulips, roses and calla lilies, with Mapplethorpe and uniform experiment branding printed in black type along the back.
